UIL

I am the UIL coach for Science and Chess for both 7th and 8th grades. 

Nominations and practice will begin shortly after the school year begins to ensure our students have ample opportunity to excel and demonstrate their awesomeness.

 

I will have tryouts for both Science and Chess which consist of a 3 tiered process. 

First there will be a general competency tryout to ensure that you are in the right UIL competition and are willing to put in the effort it takes to win. 

After several weeks of study and practice there will be another tryout to narrow down the field to a manageable number (10). 

Finally there will be the final tryout to determine who actually makes the 4 student team. 

 

The final qualifying members will get to compete against other schools in the area they have qualified in. (3 students will compete and there will be 1 alternate)
