7th-Grade Advanced Science

       7th-Grade Advanced Science

Students! Welcome to 7th-Grade Advanced Science! In order to be successful in class this year you will only have to do 4 things:

1. Pay attention in class

2. Do your assignments and turn them in on time

3. Study

4. Behave

All four are instrumental to your success and I expect nothing less than for you to succeed!

I look forward to meeting you all and know that you are up for the challenge.

Although I use Google Classroom very heavily and update it often, I frequently use the Remind App for reminders about due dates or upcoming tests. I will publish the link as soon as the district provides it to me.

At the end of the year, 7th-Grade Advanced students will take the STAAR test. Please do not be too concerned about this because I will ensure that all students are well prepared to not just pass the test but excel on it. The topics covered in 7th-Grade will include both 7th-Grade and 8th-Grade material.

We will do projects throughout the year which will require extra materials not listed on the supply list but I can help provide some of them to ensure it does not become too costly. These projects will require some time at home spent on them and I encourage parents to help.

We will also be doing work using computers in my google classroom. I will provide the codes to get into the google classroom once school starts. It is important that students get very familiar with Google Classroom. Please follow this link

https://support.google.com/edu/classroom/answer/6020285?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en

for a short tutorial on how to do assignments in Google Classroom. We will go over this in class as well.

The code for 7th Adv Science Google Classroom is: wl4ermv

Parents - I encourage you to participate fully with your child. After the first week of school, I will post assignments in Google Classroom for both you and your child. Please remember that these may be subject to change depending on how the class is going but I will do my best to stay on track. As changes to assignments and due dates occur, I will post them in Google Classroom.

I periodically use the Remind app to send out reminders. The codes are:

5th Period: @g3ad9fg26f

6th Period: @6d99c37286

7th Period: @3b372ddbfc

My conference period is 4th Period (10:25-11:10) this year so if you would like a conference, then please schedule an appointment. My email is [email protected]

***Students and Parents***

Below you will find practice for the STAAR

(Note: this is not homework however if you would like to do these practice assignments I will go over the answers during tutorials but only after we have gone over the topic in regular class).
