Bus Stop-Arm Laws During Morning Drop-Off
Posted Date: 01/15/26 (08:34 AM)
Good morning, families — we need your help with a safety reminder in our drop-off circle.
When a school bus has its stop sign (stop arm) extended and lights activated, all traffic must stop. This law applies even on campus during morning drop-off, including our circle.
We’ve had multiple instances of vehicles driving around a bus while the stop arm is out. That is extremely dangerous for students and staff and can result in serious consequences.
Please help us keep everyone safe:
- Stop immediately when the bus stop arm is out
- Do not drive around the bus for any reason
- Wait until the stop arm is fully retracted and the bus is moving or waved through
We truly appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work together to keep our students safe — especially those who require additional support during arrival.
Thank you for partnering with us.
